United Nations
The United Nations is an organization in place to help promote peace and harmony among various Nations. Those that belong to the organization have agreed to do their part to make it a better world for all of us. They understand that misconceptions and hatred among countries is not an effective way to run our governments. Still, there are times when issues occur and tension runs high. The United Nations serves as a medium between them to help resolve issues before they escalate out of control.
Since 1945 The United Nations has been going strong. They are dedicated to preserving the personal rights of every individual. They also work hard to promote safety by implementing security issues on an International level. They monitor the progress of countries economically and they keep an eye on outbreaks of medical ailments that may be a concern around the world.
All Nations are encouraged to join this organization to show their support for a peaceful world. Those that choose to be a part of the organization have to agree to various policies and procedures. They must be willing to promote peace at all times possible instead of war. The general assembly will review the application of a Nation to become a part of it. They have the final say on who can become part of the United Nations and who is deemed to have the wrong priorities.
Those Nations that choose to join also have to help fund the various activities that take place. Generally, this funding is on a voluntary basis but it is expected that each Nation will make some type of contribution to the organization. There are representatives from all of the different Nations too. This way the language issues can be addressed and all of the Nations feel that they are equally represented.
It is believed that the role of the United Nations has helped to encourage peaceful relations around the world. This has lead to free trade, people being able to successfully obtain passports for travel, and prevented wars from taking place. The United Nations continues to work hard to ensure safety by toughening laws for security and hunting down those responsible for acts of terrorism.
