United Nations Countries

There are currently 192 Nations that belong to the United Nations. Each one of them has decided to work as a unit to solve problems that arise. They have learned from the mistakes of the past that war and fighting among countries only hurts the people as a whole. With the support of the United Nations many problems can be resolved without any long term problems between those Nations. As a result the security and the safety of everyone in the world are better off.

This isn’t to say that issues between countries never come up. Yet when they do those that are members of the United Nations are expected to be very respectful in their efforts to get it resolved. Knowing that they have to set a good example for other countries can be difficult to swallow at times.

Any Nation in the world that wishes to become a part of the United Nations has the right to apply. They must agree that they are a peace loving entity and that they want to promote the betterment of mankind. They have to be willing to follow the rules and guidelines that are outlined under the terms of the United Nations.

Once a Nation has agreed to such terms, their request for admittance will go before the general assembly. Here they will discuss what course of action should be taken. A full investigation of the Nation is conducted first including security issues being looked at. In some instances the general assembly will allow a Nation to join but with some additional requirements attached as conditions of it.

In 1945, 50 Nations joined between October and November. The last one to join was Montenegro in 2006. It is hoped that one day every single Nation will belong to the organization. These countries can all benefit from the support of a united organization. There have been plenty of benefits that the United Nations countries have benefited from over the years.

To help everyone of these countries that have joined have an equal say in things, efforts have been made to help ensure that translation services are offered. This way there are no barriers that prevent effective communication from taking place. If you know several languages you may find this to be a wonderful job you are well qualified for.
